Background
The designs for The Pop Shop Cafe and Creamery are a unique interpretation of fountain shop nostalgia and futuristic blue plate sophistication. From the logo to the interior photography, the idea was to not recreate a typical throwback feel, but to imply the past and predict its future. A standout peice of the proejct was a custom metalwork sign with a 3-D rendering of the logo on an aluminum frame complete with hi-gloss "candy-like" spheres. SCG's goal was to create a user experience that felt like 1960 but was set in 2020. The success of this formula and the hard work of the client was recently featured on a Food Network special that revealed the gritty details behind the opening.
